Fun Activities for 4th of July Weekend in the Madison Area

1. Festival Foods Lights the Isthmus (7/2 5pm-10pm)
This event complete with live music of all genres, delicious food and drinks, and a spectacular firework display will take place at Breese Stevens Field. General admission tickets are $10 each, with children under 12 receiving free admittance with a paying adult. All-inclusive tickets are available for $50 each which includes “a rooftop ticket inside the stadium, three beers per person, unlimited Pepsi products, and all you can eat tailgate fare starring Festival Foods’ Oktoberfest Brats!”
2. Madison Mallards Game and Fireworks (7/3 5:05pm game time, 9:30 pm fireworks)
Attend a Madison Mallards baseball game and enjoy the largest firework display in Madison, WI presented by Festival Foods following all the fun! Located at Warner Park, there will be a band and on-field activities following the game, with opportunities for kids to run the bases, too.
3. Fourth Fest (7/4 2pm-8pm)
This free event hosted by the Edgewater Hotel has entertainment for all ages right on the shores of Lake Mendota. Three lives bands will share the stage throughout the course of the day for the adults. The Kid Zone offers face painting, balloon art, games, crafts, and is complete with snow cones and cotton candy!
4. Waunaboom Fourth of July Celebration (7/4 2pm-10:30pm)
The free event is jam-packed with activities to keep you entertained at Ripp Park. Some of the festivities include the following: a petting zoo, pony rides, laser tag, caricatures, a bike decoration parade, and firetruck tours. A junior tennis tournament is available for kids aged 8-14, and adults 21+ can register for a Bags tournament ($50 entry) for a chance to win cash prizes. Guests can catch Sing 2 for a movie in the park at 7:15pm before fireworks will close out the night.
5. Monona Community Festival (7/2-7/4 all day)
This three-day festival takes place at Winnequah Park and will conclude with fireworks on the 4th at Dusk. Each day offers the opportunity for carnival rides, Food Carts in the Park, live music, and a chance to win $5000 in a hole-in-one contest. On July 2nd, enjoy the Strongman Competition and 2 for 1 draft beer specials for Happy Hour. July 3rd presents a Mad City Cornhole Tournament, Premier Team Trivia, balloon animals, and a rock-climbing wall. To close out the weekend, July 4th offers an art fair, car show, magic acts, kids’ water fights and face painting, along with a keg toss throwdown, and so much more!
