Best Places to Get a Drink Outside Near Madison, WI

The weather is starting to be beautiful in Wisconsin and we thought what a perfect time to talk about our favorite places to grab a drink outside in the Madison and surrounding area! We’ve rounded up a list of local watering holes that provide ample outdoor space. Bonus: some of these locations are dog-friendly!
1. Wisconsin Brewing Company
Located on the outskirts of Verona, WI not only is Wisconsin Brewing gorgeous, they are dog-friendly! Bring your dog along for the ride while you enjoy some great beer outside! Their outdoor bar just opened back up for the season today (4/30/21) so we highly recommend you go check them out!
2. The Riley Tavern
Also located in the outskirts of Verona towards Mount Horeb and Pine Bluff, the Riley Tavern has received a major face-lift with its new owners in 2020 and has a fantastic outdoor bar and patio area. They feature awesome Friday night taco specials as well as Tuesday pizza nights. They are another beautiful dog-friendly location!
3. The Cider Farm
Located on the Far West Side of Madison in the same building as Brennan’s Market, The Cider Farm’s tasing room feature’s local brandy and cider’s created from apples from their own farm in the Driftless area of Wisconsin! They have a great indoor/outdoor patio area and also feature a great weekend brunch!
4. Bailey’s Run Vineyard
If you are up for a drive, Bailey’s Run Vineyard outside of New Glarus is definitely worth it. Bailey’s Run features spectacular views of the New Glarus area over their vineyard, is dog-friendly and features all locally curated wines! They also offer house-made Neapolitan pizza and live music all weekend long in the Spring and Summer months .
5. The Hop Garden Taproom
Located in Paoli’s beautiful historic Mill Terrace and Park, the Hop Garden Taproom is a hidden gem just outside of Verona. Be sure to grab Tacos at the Molino Taqueria, or go for a paddle in the nearby sugar river!
6. The Biergaren at Olbrich Park
Jumping over to the other side of Madison, The Biergarten at Olbrich Park features gorgeous views of Lake Monona in a beautiful park setting. They are officially open for the 2021 season and are another great dog-friendly option!
